WORKSHOP IN PRAGUE
Montessori Bilingual Innovations Training in Prague – An International Exchange of Best Practices
In early July 2024, a team of teachers from Warsaw Montessori School participated in an international training in Prague, organized by the Duhovka Institute and Duhovka Elementary School. The event was part of the Erasmus+ program and marked a key stage in the implementation of the “Montessori Bilingual Innovations” project.
The goal of the training was to explore the methodology of bilingual Montessori education in practice and to share experiences with Czech partners. Teachers participated in intensive workshops, lesson observations, and reflective sessions focusing on:
- integrating a second language into the Montessori curriculum,
- applying CLIL in early childhood education,
- adapting the Great Lessons for bilingual students,
- collaboration between Montessori and language teachers.
Classroom visits at Duhovka Elementary allowed participants to observe bilingual immersion in action: each class is led by two teachers speaking different languages. Observing students, analyzing materials, and daily intercultural discussions resulted in the creation of a shared repository of lesson plans and didactic strategies.
The training in Prague was not only a source of methodological inspiration but also an opportunity to build lasting relationships and an international network of cooperation. The atmosphere of openness, mutual learning, and Montessori community confirmed that bilingual education is not only a tool, but a value.
