PROJECT PREPARATION
The preparation of the Montessori Bilingual Innovations program was the result of close collaboration between three organizations: Warsaw Montessori School, Duhovka Elementary School, and Duhovka Institute. The process began with an analysis of the needs of teachers and students in bilingual education within a Montessori environment. The project team, consisting of teachers, methodologists, and language education specialists, developed a detailed teaching plan that combined traditional Montessori methods with modern approaches to teaching two languages. The preparation of the program involved experienced educators from Poland and the Czech Republic, including: from Warsaw Montessori School – Bartłomiej Walczak and Christopher Gouges, from Duhovka Elementary School – [name(s)]. The overall process was overseen by specialists from Duhovka Institute – Judith Luman and [name].
At every stage of the program’s development, the specific needs of children learning in two languages were taken into account, adapting Montessori materials to their language proficiency level. The program included both foundational language skills and the development of communication skills in a cultural context. The next step involved creating strategies for assessing student progress and tools to support teachers in bilingual teaching. The entire process of program preparation took place through intensive workshops and online meetings, which allowed for continuous modification and improvement of the individual components of the program.
