Student Visit to Norway as Part of Erasmus+
From 23 to 27 April 2025, students from Warsaw Montessori School visited Northlight Montessori in Stavanger, Norway, as part of the Montessori Erdkinder project. The trip offered participants a wealth of educational and cultural experiences and allowed them to discover everyday life in a Norwegian Montessori school.
Our students presented Montessori education in Poland, the work of the Farm School, and elements of Polish culture. The Norwegian hosts introduced traditions related to Constitution Day and shared insights into their school philosophy, centred on freedom, responsibility, and working at one’s individual pace.
During joint activities, students worked together in the school garden, learning about plants, ecology, and teamwork. This hands-on experience perfectly reflected the goals of the Montessori Erdkinder project, which promotes learning through action and direct contact with nature.
The group explored Stavanger alongside their Norwegian peers, discovering the city’s history, harbour, colourful streets, and landmarks. A visit to the Norwegian Petroleum Museum became one of the highlights of the programme, sparking curiosity and lively discussions among students.
The trip also included trekking along scenic trails and a boat tour through the fjords — unforgettable experiences that allowed students to feel the unique atmosphere of Norwegian nature.
The visit to Stavanger offered students not only the chance to learn about a different culture and school environment, but also an experience that broadened their perspective and strengthened their sense of belonging to the wider European community.
