Visual Arts
On Monday, March 24, 2025, the opening of the diploma exhibition of Visual Arts students from the graduating class of Warsaw Montessori High School took place at Galeria U, located in the Stokłosy Cultural Center. The exhibition marked the culmination of nearly two years of intensive study and artistic development under the careful guidance of Dr. Jan Balcerzak.
Each student had the opportunity to independently choose both the theme that interested them the most and the technique they would use to give artistic form to their thoughts and emotions. As a result, a remarkable collection of artworks was created, showcasing an impressive variety of techniques. The exhibition featured moving photographic works, expressive rural landscapes, architectural sketches of churches, temples, and places of worship, as well as sculptures and artistic installations. Equally important to the visual aspect was the message conveyed by each collection of works.
The event began with presentations, during which each student introduced the main theme of their artistic exploration, their key reflections, and the way they chose to express the issues that intrigued them. Guests were then given time to explore the exhibition independently. While viewing the works, visitors had the chance to engage with the artists, who individually answered questions and explained the concepts behind each piece.
The selection of themes demonstrated the exceptional maturity and deep awareness of the young artists. Their works addressed a range of significant issues. Some focused on the human experience on an individual level—coming of age and self-discovery, the ambiguity of emotions and the challenges of building relationships, or the tension between rationality and emotionality. Others explored broader social perspectives—Poland’s cultural diversity, sacred architecture as a symbolic part of a place’s history, and rural areas and their role in society.
We sincerely congratulate all the artists on their outstanding, profound, and insightful works.
