WORKSHOP IN WARSAW
Warsaw Stage of the Montessori Bilingual Innovations Program – Practice, Reflection, and Competency Development
In the third week of August 2024, Warsaw Montessori School hosted teachers from the Czech Republic as part of the continuation of the Erasmus+ project “Montessori Bilingual Innovations.” The Warsaw training constituted the second part of the international training cycle focused on implementing bilingual education in Montessori schools.
The training program included:
- joint workshops on adapting Montessori materials for Second Language Learners (SLL),
- classroom observations in bilingual settings,
- mentoring sessions and intercultural consultations,
- collaborative design of lesson plans and worksheets.
Czech teachers became familiar with the practices of bilingual program implementation in the Polish context, including the model of cooperation between Polish- and English-speaking teachers, and methods of supporting parents in the bilingual upbringing process. Participants emphasized the high quality of classroom preparation, the commitment of the WMF team, and the openness of the school community.
The training concluded with a summary of shared insights and the development of a plan for ongoing collaboration and program development. The Warsaw stage demonstrated that Montessori Bilingual Innovations is a sustainable initiative that meets the real needs of contemporary European education.
